Magic, illusion and love: this is how Marist schools in Madrid (Spain) celebrated Christmas

The weeks leading up to the Christmas holidays are always filled with a great number of activities in which the children are the main protagonists.

Maristas Villalba School celebrated Christmas with activities for the whole educational community!

During the month of December, Maristas Villalba School started a series of activities to celebrate Advent and Christmas, filling students, families and staff with joy and Christmas spirit.

Since the beginning of December, students have participated in activities such as a black light theatre, twinning between students from different stages under the methodology of learning and service or Christmas card competitions to congratulate the holidays on behalf of the school. In addition, the students of the Middle Level Training Cycle have developed a living Nativity Scene for the youngest children, a long-awaited tradition every year in which they represent scenes from the birth of Jesus, as well as handicrafts and a hockey tournament for the older students of the Primary stage.

The activities are not only limited to the students, but the whole educational community is involved. Once again this year, Operation Kilo has been organised in collaboration with the social work Espiral and Cáritas Villalba. In addition, the school’s AMPA has rewarded the most creative and elaborate nativity scenes in the Infant and Primary classrooms with a chocolate with churros.

Once again we have involved the families in the Infants’ festival and shared a moment of prayer together with all the pupils and teachers of Infants and Primary.

To continue with our solidarity work that we have across the school, the students of 5 years and 1st Primary went to sing Christmas carols at the old people’s home, as well as the students of 1st Secondary to take them the Christmas cards that they themselves have made in art class.

To conclude the celebrations, a separate Festival was held for each stage, where students of all ages performed traditional Christmas songs and activities. They also visited with the youngest children the Nativity Scene that the Brothers of the Rock make every year while the students of the whole school, from the 3rd year of Primary, attended the Eucharist to celebrate the end of Advent and Christmas.

Maristas Villalba School would like to thank all the families and members of the educational community for their collaboration and commitment. Once again, Christmas brings us together in an atmosphere of joy, solidarity and hope!

Happy Holidays to the whole Marist family!

A Magical Christmas Experience in the Madrid Metro for 1st Primary students of Colegio Chamberí Maristas

The 1st Primary pupils of Chamberí Maristas School had an unforgettable day full of magic, illusion and Christmas spirit with their trip to the Madrid Metro. This very special activity, which was held on the occasion of the Christmas festivities, offered the little ones a unique experience that will remain engraved in their memories forever.

From the very beginning of the visit, the children were welcomed by the friendly elves, Santa’s helpers, who, with their friendliness and good humour, created a warm and festive atmosphere. The elves shared fascinating stories about Christmas with the pupils telling them secrets and legends of this special time of year. In addition, the children were amazed by the magic tricks performed by Catio, the magician, who left everyone open-mouthed.

The activity continued with an exciting ride on the famous Christmas Train, a train decorated with Christmas motifs and full of lights that travelled through some of the most famous stations of the Madrid Metro. On board the train, elves encouraged the children to sing Christmas carols, creating an atmosphere of joy and celebration. The sound of Christmas songs filled the carriages as the children were completely immersed in the Christmas spirit.

The experience, as well as being fun, was an opportunity for the children to experience Christmas in a magical way in a very special and different environment.

At the end of the activity, all the children took away with them a souvenir of this magical day. Without a doubt, this trip to the Madrid Metro with the elves and the Christmas Train was a unique experience that the 1st Primary pupils of Colegio Chamberí Maristas will treasure forever.

A day full of magic, joy and fun that marked the beginning of Christmas for our little ones!
