A group of teachers and brothers from Malaysia visit Barcelona (Spain)

On Wednesday, 28 May, we had the honour of welcoming a group of Marist teachers and brothers from Malaysia to our school. This visit was part of a tour they are making to different cities in Spain with the aim of learning more about the diverse Marist realities that exist in our country. For all of us, it was a very special occasion that allowed us to share experiences, strengthen ties and reinforce the sense of global community that characterises the Marist charism.

From the very beginning, a warm and welcoming atmosphere was created. Our visitors showed great interest in learning about the day-to-day life of our school, our educational methodologies and the projects we carry out with our students. In turn, we had the opportunity to learn more about the Marist reality in Malaysia: its history, challenges and achievements. It was a very enriching experience, both on a human and pedagogical level.

One of the most emotional moments of the meeting was when, gathered around the Marist world map, the Malaysian brothers and teachers proudly pointed out the location of their school. At the same time, Brother Enric Carreras and our director, Joan Pratdepadua, showed where ours is located. This symbolic gesture clearly reflected the bond that exists between our communities, despite the geographical and cultural distance.

Without a doubt, this visit has been another step forward in the construction of the Champagnat Global project, a network that unites all Marists around the world in the same educational and evangelising dream. We are very grateful for this exchange and hope that it will soon be repeated in other places and with new participants.

Let’s continue walking together, as one big Marist family!
